01 / Prepare

Every jump is a commitment.

In the intended game, you will prepare at Earth with an operational faster-than-light (FTL) drive. Plan for the physical materials, engineering capability and time needed to rebuild it away from home.

Current location Earth

  1. Every jump is a commitment.

In the intended game, you will prepare at Earth with an operational faster-than-light (FTL) drive. Plan for the physical materials, engineering capability and time needed to rebuild it away from home.

FTL drive: Ready · Conventional propulsion: Available

  2. The jump is complete. The drive is spent.

The outward Light-Speed+ jump will leave the FTL assembly unusable at Caligo Veil. Conventional propulsion will remain available, but another jump will require a full rebuild.

FTL drive: Spent · Conventional propulsion: Available

  3. Rebuild your way home.

Reconstruction is intended as a substantial engineering operation: disassembly, component fabrication and reassembly, using physical materials, suitable engineering capability and time. Waiting alone cannot restore the drive.

FTL drive: Spent · Conventional propulsion: Available

  4. The full rebuild makes the return possible.

This snapshot represents completed disassembly, component fabrication and reassembly, with the required physical materials, engineering capability and work time. Only the full rebuild restores FTL readiness.

FTL drive: Ready · Conventional propulsion: Available

  5. Every return is an achievement.

Returning to Earth will spend the rebuilt FTL drive again. Arrival will not restore it: another jump will require another full rebuild using physical materials, engineering capability and time. Conventional propulsion will remain independently available.

02 / The journey home

REBUILD YOUR
WAY HOME.

The drive is spent. Your ship isn't.
What you brought—and what you can build—changes what happens next.

01Physical materials

You carry the way home.

Rebuilding supplies compete with valuable discoveries for cargo space. A return journey begins with the choices you make before departure.

02Engineering capability

A real engineering operation.

Disassembly. Component fabrication. Reassembly. Suitable equipment and engineering capability turn physical resources into an operational drive.

03Work time

A commitment, not a shortcut.

Reconstruction takes work and time. Improving efficiency can make an expedition more capable; it can never remove the full rebuild after a completed jump.

Intended mechanic · Every completed jump requires a full rebuild, including the journey back.

03 / The Silent Meridian

Expedition brief 2287

The Caligo Veil

Our planned opening expedition begins near Earth, with a mission to investigate a missing human research vessel.

01 / Arrival

After the jump, the FTL drive is exhausted. While reconstruction begins, the investigation opens into something larger.

02 / An unexpected encounter

An unfamiliar merchant addresses you by name. He appears to have known exactly where your ship would arrive.

03 / One question remains

A strange navigation record suggests that something unusual happened during the research vessel's final jump. The explanation remains unresolved.

A FEW
ANSWERS.

What is LIGHT-SPEED+?

A single-player PC space game in development, set in 2287. The vision centres on exploration, expedition planning, survival and discovery, with Earth as an important economic hub.

What is an FTL drive?

FTL means faster-than-light. In the world of LIGHT-SPEED+, it allows journeys of millions of light-years in minutes. Every completed jump leaves the drive unusable until a full physical rebuild using materials, engineering capability and time. Upgrades may improve efficiency but cannot remove that commitment. Conventional propulsion remains separate.

Is combat the only way through an expedition?

The design calls for meaningful investigation, engineering, salvage and diplomacy as well as optional combat. These expedition and encounter systems are planned; the accepted playable foundation currently covers ship flight.

What is The Silent Meridian?

The planned opening expedition investigates a missing human research vessel in the Caligo Veil. An exhausted jump drive, an unexpected encounter and the question of whom to trust connect the journey to the wider mystery. The mission is not implemented yet.

Are the scenes on this website gameplay?

The cinematic space scenes are concept art, labelled In development. Current Unreal work is a development ship and test range with unfinished presentation. The interactive expedition on this site explains an intended mechanic; it is not a game demo.

When can I play, and how can I follow development?

There is no public release date or playable download announced here. Request development updates and confirm your email address to subscribe. The intended updates will share real development progress and footage when there is something meaningful to show; no beta access or fixed mailing schedule is promised.
